discussion! It happens that the 2008 General Conference approved a
petition to add a requirement for local church finance committees that they
establish written financial policies and the review of such should be reported
at charge conference each year. The language to be added to the
Discipline is listed below and will be added as paragraph 259.4.c. in the 2008
Book of Discipline. I don’t think you will hear much about it this
year for charge conference but you should hear more for the 2009 charge
conference season and it will be good to get a start on it in advance. I
also assume that we will receive some guidance from the General Council on
Finance and Administration on good guidelines but that has not yet been
forthcoming. I will let you know if we get anything.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
