[LCFinance] saftware feedback appreciated

We, at Trinity UMC, in Jacksonville, NC have been using Shepherd's
Staff for years (I have been here almost 5 years and it was here when I
came). I am the financial officer for this church, and use the Finance
and Contributions modules daily. I love it!! Our secretary uses the
Membership database and I think that I speak for her when I say that she
likes it as well. The Finance module doesn't have a payroll function,
so they recommend Intuit's Quick Payroll, which is free with an annual
subscription of $169 for federal and state taxes updates. It interfaces
into the Finance module easily.

If our church was to change to something else, I think that I would have
to find another job. I like it that much. Feel free to further
correspond regarding it if you like. My email address is
trinityfinance at embarqmail.com.

Subject: [LCFinance] saftware feedback appreciated

Greetings all.

As the new chair of finance at McMannen UMC, I'm looking for some
guidance and feedback from this group.

Specifically we are in search of a new software package to support the
Financial Secretary and track and report our incoming contributions.
This would integrate our membership database and provide more functions
as we grow. Some of the packages we are reviewing include Church
Helpmate, Membership Plus, PowerChurch, Servant Keeper, and Shepherd's
Staff.

Can you folks share your experiences and thoughts (good and bad) about
any of these? Is there a "gold standard" or one package that is head and
shoulders above the rest? Is there a package that we do not have on our
list that is worth a look?

Just as a quick poll...what is your church using?

Thank so very much for your help in this.

Jim Shaw
