[LCFinance] Utility Payment Guidance

Christine -

I'd like clarification on how to handle cell phones.

Our church provides our pastors with cell phones which keeps them in touch
with the congregation and office wherever they are. With that in mind, we
have always considered their cell phones as part of their "utilities".
According to this new Utility Payment Guidance cell phones are not to be
reimbursed as a utility. Is that correct?

Thanks,

Cathy

Subject: [LCFinance] Utility Payment Guidance

Friends,

Attached is a document with guidance on payment of utilities for church
parsonages. Many of you are aware that the Cabinet is asking that all
congregations with pastors living in parsonages begin making utility
payments directly to the utility companies rather than making cash allowance
payments to the pastor. Please see the attached guidance for more
discussion of this if it applies to your congregation.

Thanks,

Christine
