Katherine in an Asst. Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at Vanderbuilt University in Nashville, Tenn. Currently, Katherine is on "loan" to the US State Dept. working in Baghdad and surrounding areas giving cultural support to our military. Her best friend in this State Dept. program, Nicole Suveges, was killed in a bombing last week in a Sadr City,Iraq. Needless to say, my cousin Elizabeth and her husband Allen are even more terrified for their daughter. Please keep Nicole and her family, as well as my cousin's family in your prayers In addition, two of Scout Troop 124 Assistant Scoutmasters are training with the NorthCarolina National Guard for deployment to Iraq somwtime this fall. They are Bradley Palmer (former History teacher at Clayton High School) and Mark Kingsley. Both have been valuable assets to our troop. As July 4th approaches and we celebrate the birth of our great nation, please keep all of our men and women in uniform, their families, and all of the many support personnel in your prayers. Without these great people, we would be in even greater peril. Thankfully it was mild and they did not admit her to the hospital. Please keep her in your prayers. She has a very difficult year.
